Somedays I eat like a junk yard dog...

Happy Friday Lovelies!!!! I hope you are all having great weeks.... This week I had to remember that not every day is going to be great multiple times. Michigan has been bipolar this week for sure.

Sundays run was super cold and I forgot my gloves and muff so I ran back to get it, when I did I hit an uneven patch of sidewalk and fell. I laid there for a few seconds looking at the sky, the pup was giving me kisses and had a general look of concern ( It was very cute ) luckily I was only a little banged up and finished my run and ran Monday I ran too and they both went pretty well, except that snow happened.

Wednesday I went to do my long run on the trail, I got there and there was snow on the trail.  I decided that it was a good idea to run 9 miles on snow ... it was not! about 5 miles was all I could run and I had to walk the last 4, because well I was 4 miles from the car and the car would take me to food.  Thursday I had to be up early to help teach the Career center fire class. I love being able to help shape future fire fighters :) I also worked a reverse 24 at the fire department so It ended up being 40 minutes of yoga before going to bed... and I have to tell you it was AWESOME! some of the best yoga I have ever done ... I felt so relaxed and slept great.

Friday fun day started with core strength yoga, with my brothers heckling me on shift LOL... I woke up still having pain in my left knee, it got a little dinged when I fell and I can't put bengay on it due to psoriasis so I thought I would use an Icepack, running with an Icepack feels great, until it springs a leak... the salt in said psoriasis doesn't feel the greatest. I ended up with 3.1 miles in 44 minutes, it wasn't great but a mile is a mile and I got them done.  I decided to put myself to the test and didn't give myself much of a break between set ups so I got my gear on and threw on the SCBA for good measure.
I decided to change some things around this week, I decided that I would take out the stairs with the plates, I figured I would re-arrange things and instead of 15, 10, 5s I would do 3 sets of 15. I did dumbbell curls,  push ups, planks,  150 lb tire drag, and 55 lb weighted squats. I was definitely on the struggle bus but kept pushing myself. I dropped the mask and embarked on climbing flights of stairs.  I am trying to get up to 110 flights but that did not happen for me today with my knee being a jerk. At 25 flights I had to drop pack. I made it to 60 flights and kind of died... I ended my workout with the room crawl... I had a very nice face first nap on the dirty floor while I tried to catch my breath.

I came home and spent the one friday night I get off in a month, watching netflix on my computer so I could soak in epsom salt.  Am I getting old that I didn't think twice about going out on St. Patties day?
I found this photo on Facebook today, I thought it was very fitting.

Cooking fun...
This week I did rather well with my diet until Wednesday and Thursday, wednesday I only ate once but I had a gyro and a buffalo slider from Arbys, the thursday my mom handed me crack in the form of golden oreos with peeps filling... sounds nasty taste delicious after eating 8 I took them back to her and told her to take them away, then I had jelly beans and pizza.  I failed horribly... I am owning it and now I am moving on and trying better today. I have to realize I am not always going to be perfect, something I struggle with.

anyways...
This week I went full on soup crazy!!!

I made my standby favorite of turkey and cabbage soup.... full of veggies, very filling, 80 calories a cup. Its one of my favorites to help curb appetite because its very filling and very flavorful, My recipe makes a ton (12qts) so I have a bunch frozen too. I also made Vegan Vegetable soup for my vegan days, also super filling, it was a great meal after a hard work out. Today I found out that subway workers think your crazy when you order a vegan salad... they get strange when you say no to cheese... almost as weird as it felt to say no to cheese.  I took their salad back and threw in the roasted veggies and lemon vegan dressing... it was awesome :) my partner was jealous that I didn't make him any... maybe I will get him healthier yet.
